However they can also be stressful and difficult for some. Below are resources that are good to have any time of the year but we wanted to make sure you have them, especially while we are away!

Save a number, save a life.
Lifeline Crisis Chat: www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/ (available 24/7)
Crisis Text Line - 741741
The Trevor Lifeline: (866)-488-7386
Jason Foundation & their app is a great resource

Dell Children's Mental Health Unit admission line: 512-324-0029
Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) and Austin Oaks can offer free assessments.
You can go to any ER for a psychiatric evaluation (however you will be charged an emergency room fee)
If you need to call 911, let them know it is a psychiatric emergency and request a mental health officer to also come out.
Counseling Resources -
For the Love of Christi - support groups
The Austin Center for Grief and Loss - group and individual counseling
If your child is currently under the care of a psychiatrist and/or therapist, you can always request an emergency session if you have concerns.
Don't know if you should be concerned?
Additional warning signs
Check out some additional reasons why connection is important and ways to create that connection during the holidays! As a reminder, connection is a safe guard against loneliness and depression as well.
As always, please don't hesitate to reach out to any counselor or LSSP at WHS! We hope that you have a healthy and happy holiday! See you in January!
Happy Holidays, Chaps!
