With finals just around the corner, it's never been more important to prioritize sleep! In fact, getting a good night's sleep is the easiest way to ensure that all that studying actually commits to your long term memory!

Check out this quick 5 minute Ted Talk about the benefits of a good night's sleep in relation to memory!

And in case you need a refresher about ALLLLLL the other health benefits to sleeping and ways to support better/more hours of sleep - revisit this helpful blog!

It's the final countdown! Stay Healthy, and sleeping, Chaps!

Managing Stress!

12/6/2018

OK, so this might be a pretty simplified diagram but the fact of the matter is, managing our stress CAN be pretty simple IF we actually make the time to engage in some of this "simple" activities.

Can you honestly think of the last time you (or your child) engaged in a hobby you (they) enjoyed without it being designated by work or school? What about taking a walk around Austin and admiring the truly fall leaf changing we are having? Or put on music to enjoy it as music and not something to distract you while driving or working on homework?

Sometimes we might be engaging in excellent stress management skills but we are multitasking and therefore not getting the full benefit!

My challenge to you over this weekend and into next week when things are really revved up for our students is to SLOW DOWN and engage in a healthy coping skill! You might find it harder than it sounds on paper but I guarantee you will feel better after doing it!

Stay Healthy, Chaps!
